Blog 6: English Language Challenges


Hi everyone! Today in the last blog I´m going to talk about my experience learning English at university and the use of blogs.

First, about the blogs I think that were a very useful tool, because I was able to practice writing, grammar and vocabulary. And about the class I consider that were very practical and interesting, for the content and the dynamic of the class. I really like to watch videos about entertainment and artist, but at the same time watch videos about social and political contents. Another thing that I like for this class it was promote the use of English in the class because I learn more vocabulary. Finally I like the text that we had to read because the content was about social or political content and it made us think about that problem or situation.

Regarding the aspects of my English need to be improved, I think that I need improved reading comprehension and I want to read in English some books that I read. In this year I think that I improve too much in writing but I want to improved more in this aspect.

I don´t use a lot the English outside the English class, but I try to use with my little sister and listening to music in English. Anyway I want to use more the English for example I want to watch series and movies in English with subtitles in English, practice speaking more in English, and read articles in English.

    Hi Jimena! I really like the dinamic of the class too, because we could improve our English skills by watching videos or reading political texts.

    Hi Jimena! I also like to watch entertaining and sociopolitical videos in classes, and the sociopolitical texts. I think that you could easily improve what you want :) (we should make a reading session to practice haha :D)

    Hello Jimena! If you want to improve to reading in English I recomend you a book call "The Giver". I read it for my high school classes and is very comfortable to explore. Also the serie that amplied my vocabulary the most was "the office" lol. Good luuuck and have a great semester.

Hi everyone! Today I am going to write about changes that could be made in my career. About the curriculum I think is very complete, in fact it was one of the reasons for choosing the University of Chile. I like it very much that can be followed immediately a more specific line of psychology. Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk about postgraduate studies. I considered studying in a Master’s Program because I really like to learn new things and is an opportunity to enrich my knowledge. But now I'm still not sure in which area specifically but I have some ideas. First, I want to finish my current career and then I want to start working for a few years before starting to study again. I want to study some related with psychology because I really like my career and I think that is necessary to professionalize and get more and better tools and skills to help others. I think that the subjects that I would like to study are child's phycology, familiar therapy, and game therapy because my dream job is related to these areas.
